Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer I (Semiconductor)

Location: Beverly, Massachusetts, United States; 100% onsite

Salary: $99,120–$148,680 USD annual base salary, plus eligibility for a team incentive bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Review software, system, and hardware requirements with multidisciplinary engineering teams and ensure adequate test coverage.
• Develop, maintain, and execute test plans and cases covering software functionality, system performance, installations, and end-to-end customer scenarios.
• Operate ion implantation equipment and simulation platforms to perform system-level software validation.
• Investigate test issues, collect logs and evidence, support root cause analysis, and verify corrective actions.
• Document defects with reproduction steps, expected results, and supporting data while maintaining test, risk, and quality records.
• Participate in release-readiness reviews and work in a cleanroom while following safety and cleanroom protocols.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, physical sciences, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with software testing methodologies, defect tracking systems, and test documentation.
• Ability to interpret software requirements and convert them into effective test cases.
• Experience with complex electro-mechanical equipment or industrial systems and the ability to identify hardware/software issues.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Nice to have

• Experience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment, ion implantation systems, or other semiconductor capital equipment.
• Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and industry practices.
• Familiarity with SECS/GEM factory automation standards.
• Experience with software validation, system integration testing, or customer workflow testing.
• Understanding of hardware/software interactions in industrial control systems.
