Senior Flight Dynamics Engineer II (Space Systems)

Base salary: $162,000–$243,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Develop and analyze launch vehicle and spacecraft trajectories, including ascent, orbit insertion, and orbital maneuvers.
• Perform orbital propagation, rendezvous planning, and station-keeping analysis for spacecraft operations.
• Support mission design through launch-window analysis, delta-V budgeting, and contingency planning.
• Work with flight software, GNC, systems, ground software, avionics, propulsion, and other engineering disciplines to validate and optimize guidance profiles.
• Generate trajectory data products and flight-dynamics support for mission-readiness reviews.
• Develop simulation tools and flight-dynamics infrastructure, while supporting real-time mission operations, anomaly response, and post-launch data analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, space systems, software engineering, applied physics, or an equivalent engineering field.
• 8+ years of experience in mission design or flight dynamics.
• Knowledge of orbital mechanics and orbit-determination theory.
• Experience with STK, Astrogator, GMAT, Monte, Copernicus, or equivalent mission-analysis tools.
• Python software development, Git or equivalent version control, and Jira or equivalent project-management software.
• Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI; U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in aerospace engineering or a related field.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Monte Carlo numerical simulation and orbit-determination analysis using ODTK, Orekit, or equivalent tools.
• Team or software project-management experience.
• Ability to solve complex problems under time pressure and prioritize work with multiple stakeholders.
