Location: Los Angeles, United States. U.S. Person status is required to access export-controlled data. The role is based at the Playa Vista office and involves travel to launch sites.

Salary: $140,000–$190,000 annual base salary, plus equity.

What you will do

  • Define end-to-end mission architectures covering spacecraft, launch vehicles, ground systems, and operations.
  • Lead payload integration, spacecraft-level environmental testing, launch vehicle integration, and mission integration and test planning.
  • Perform orbital mechanics, trajectory planning, deployment strategy, coupled loads, thermal, and electromagnetic compatibility analyses.
  • Develop mission budgets for power, mass, data, and pointing, while managing system-level risks, requirements, verification, validation, and FMEA activities.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison for customers, internal engineering teams, government entities, prime contractors, and external partners.
  • Lead technical documentation, customer design reviews, proposal support, launch-site activities, and operational-orbit support.

Requirements

  • U.S. Person status required for access to export-controlled data.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in aerospace, mechanical, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience with complex hardware systems, spacecraft, or technical capture management.
  • Strong knowledge of space systems, launch vehicle mechanics, orbital dynamics, mission operations, and spacecraft or payload engineering.
  • Experience with satellite manufacturing or aerospace, defense, or high-tech industries; CubeSat, small-satellite, or rideshare mission integration experience is required.
  • Familiarity with flight software, embedded systems, space communications protocols, and tools such as Python, MATLAB, STK, FreeFlyer, or GMAT.
