Principal Analog Design Engineer (AI)

Location: Full-time onsite in San Jose, California, or Hsinchu, Taiwan

Salary: $225,000–$280,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Design, simulate, and verify high-speed analog circuits such as drivers, transimpedance amplifiers, ADCs, DACs, and PLLs in deep-submicron CMOS technologies.
• Define circuit architectures and specifications from system-level requirements.
• Create full-custom schematics and physical layouts in Cadence Virtuoso, including DRC/LVS, floor planning, and post-layout extraction and simulation.
• Ensure signal integrity and power integrity across high-speed interconnects.
• Collaborate with Photonics and Digital teams to optimize electro-optic interfaces.
• Support bench characterization and production testing of analog blocks.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of professional experience in full-custom analog IC design, including 5+ years in GHz-speed RF or broadband analog design.
• Expert proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso schematic capture, simulation, and custom layout.
• Deep knowledge of semiconductor device physics, linearity, noise analysis, and high-frequency circuit theory.
• Experience taking high-speed analog blocks from concept through successful tape-outs and mass production.
• Ability to work onsite in San Jose, California, or Hsinchu, Taiwan.

Nice to have

• Experience with photonic transceivers or optical communication electronics.
• Design experience with TSMC N5P, N3P, or N2P technology nodes.
• Experience designing high-speed data converters and low-jitter PLL clocking circuits.
• Proficiency with EMX, HFSS, or Spectre RF.
