Software Quality Assurance Engineer III (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: 100% onsite in Beverly, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $99,120–$148,680 base salary annually, plus eligibility for a team incentive bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Review software and system requirements with software, systems, and hardware engineering teams to ensure test coverage.
• Develop, maintain, and execute test plans and cases covering software functionality, system performance, installations, and end-to-end customer scenarios.
• Operate ion implantation equipment and simulation platforms for system-level software validation in laboratory and cleanroom environments.
• Investigate defects, collect logs and supporting data, assist with root cause analysis, and verify corrective actions.
• Document defects, test results, risks, quality metrics, and release readiness assessments.
• Follow cleanroom protocols and required safety procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, physical sciences, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Experience with software testing methodologies, defect tracking systems, and test documentation.
• Ability to interpret software requirements and translate them into effective test cases.
• Experience identifying, documenting, and communicating system-level hardware and software issues.
• Experience with complex electro-mechanical equipment or industrial systems.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment, ion implantation systems, or semiconductor fabrication capital equipment.
• Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and industry practices.
• Familiarity with factory automation standards such as SECS/GEM.
• Experience with software validation, system integration testing, or customer workflow testing.
• Understanding of hardware/software interactions in industrial control systems.
