Sr. Director, Integrated Materials and Process Technologies (Metal Additive Manufacturing)

Annual base salary: $227,130–$312,900

What you will do

• Lead the technical roadmap for advanced materials and integrated process technologies across gantry-based and galvo-based additive manufacturing systems.
• Own materials and process milestones while balancing development speed, safety, regulatory compliance, cost, quality, and manufacturability.
• Lead the transition of materials and processes from early development through validation, qualification, industrialization, and repeatable serial production.
• Establish technical reviews, validation gates, documentation standards, process controls, and engineering quality frameworks.
• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary organization of engineers, scientists, managers, and senior technical contributors.
• Partner with manufacturing, hardware, software, supply chain, quality, application engineering, and commercial teams on production and customer requirements.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience developing and deploying innovative manufacturing processes into production, including significant experience with metal laser powder bed fusion or other advanced additive manufacturing technologies.
• 3+ years of experience leading multidisciplinary engineering, materials, or process development teams in advanced manufacturing.
• Experience developing, qualifying, and deploying materials and manufacturing processes for certified, regulated, or demanding serial-production applications.
• Deep expertise in materials science and process engineering, with systems-level understanding of mechanical systems, controls, thermal management, fluid dynamics, and manufacturing engineering.
• Experience scaling engineering teams and taking technologies from prototyping through validation, qualification, industrialization, and manufacturing scale-up.
• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline; an advanced degree is preferred.
