Software Developer - Data Platform (Python)

What you will do

• Design, implement, test, optimize, and troubleshoot Python libraries, frameworks, and services.
• Build and maintain resilient, observable, secure, and high-performance data platform infrastructure.
• Design data models and services for reliable application development and easier debugging.
• Add features to React frontends when appropriate.
• Collaborate with technology, quantitative development, data operations, and data pipeline teams to meet evolving requirements and reduce technical debt.
• Write requirements documents, design documents, production runbooks, and support higher-order production investigations.

Requirements

• More than 4 full years of relevant professional experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM subject.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Practical knowledge of data-transfer protocols and tools, including FTP, SFTP, HTTP APIs, and AWS S3.
• Excellent communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience designing, testing, optimizing, and troubleshooting data-intensive applications or services.
• Experience across web development, data engineering, backend development, or operations.
• Experience with SQL, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, C++, or Rust.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis or Valkey, FastAPI, Kubernetes, Helm, HashiCorp Vault, or HashiCorp Nomad.
