Senior Flight Software Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: San Francisco, United States; in-office five days a week is essential

Salary: $170K–$215K per year

What you will do

• Develop highly reliable autonomous flight software systems.
• Build the simulations and infrastructure required to validate autonomous systems.
• Own software development across design, testing, and operations.
• Help architect the application, operating system, networking, and firmware layers.
• Define and implement software requirements and scope with engineering peers.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines on complete aircraft systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a science discipline with 4+ years of software development experience, or 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with C++, Rust, or another systems programming language.
• Experience building or working with real-time or distributed computing systems.
• Experience with embedded systems or the Linux kernel.
• Proven debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing skills.
• Basic knowledge of controls, fluid systems, motors, or other physical mechanics.
