Senior Manufacturing Process Development Engineer, Consumer Technology (Additive Manufacturing)

Annual base salary: $106,000–$146,000, plus equity

What you will do

• Own and optimize the end-to-end 3D digital manufacturing workflow, from laser print files through stress relief, heat treatment, and final part extraction.
• Develop laser interaction parameters, high-temperature thermal recipes, and advanced printing strategies.
• Design and analyze Design of Experiments using statistical software such as Minitab or JMP to improve process capability, yield, and scrap rates.
• Lead investigations into failed builds, non-conformances, geometric distortions, and metallurgical variation, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Partner with Applications and Design teams on Design for Additive Manufacturing reviews, including CAD geometries, support structures, and post-processing constraints.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in process development, metallurgical engineering, or advanced materials processing within high-precision manufacturing.
• Experience with metal additive manufacturing, semiconductor fabrication, aerospace processing, advanced injection molding, or a comparable field.
• Ability to build and analyze statistical process control data and Design of Experiments.
• Deep understanding of material behavior, thermal stress, microstructural evolution, or mechanical testing protocols.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Analytical problem-solving skills and strong cross-functional communication.
