Company

hirify.global develops advanced propulsion systems, including the Superpower gas turbine for AI data centers and the Symphony turbofan for supersonic flight.

What you will do

  • Own a defined materials and manufacturing process area, such as material qualification, investment casting, advanced joining, surface coatings, or non-destructive testing.
  • Work across design, propulsion, and manufacturing while moving between the office, materials laboratory, cleanroom, and shop floor.
  • Characterize and validate materials for gas turbines and high-Mach flight under severe mechanical and thermal conditions.
  • Investigate testing anomalies using internal laboratory equipment, including SEM, and develop documented root-cause solutions.
  • Plan and execute test campaigns covering superalloy LCF/HCF and creep testing, metallic additive manufacturing DOEs, and investment casting development.
  • Scope, procure, install, commission, and operate new equipment while training other users.

Requirements

  • Degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgy, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent hands-on hardware experience.
  • At least one internship or co-op involving real-world engineering materials, testing, or process characterization.
  • Required hands-on laboratory or shop experience with mechanical test frames, metallographic preparation equipment, heat-treatment furnaces, or additive manufacturing machines.
  • Fundamental knowledge of microstructural strengthening, fatigue failure, corrosion resistance, and high-temperature oxidation.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete difficult engineering or hardware projects.
  • Must be eligible to access U.S. export-controlled information and technology under ITAR and EAR requirements.

Culture & Benefits

  • Entry-level engineers receive meaningful ownership and accountability from the start.
  • Work directly with advanced materials, propulsion hardware, laboratory systems, and manufacturing processes.
  • On-site meals and gym access are available.
  • Benefits may include long-term incentives or equity and flexible paid time off.
  • Boom is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity.
