Staff Software Engineer, Security (AI)

Location: Seattle, WA, USA; the role is associated with a Seattle office.

Salary: $180,000–$240,000 annually plus equity and a performance-based annual bonus.

What you will do

• Define and drive product and platform security strategy, prioritizing investments against the most important risks.
• Lead threat modeling for the agentic platform and design protections for agent behavior, permissions, isolation, customer data, and platform boundaries.
• Harden production access, IAM, secrets management, cloud infrastructure, and the CI/CD supply chain.
• Build secure-by-default patterns for agents, services, and infrastructure in partnership with engineering.
• Own security detection, logging standards, incident response, and improvements to response processes.
• Represent technical security in enterprise customer reviews and own technical controls supporting SOC 2.

Requirements

• 8+ years of security engineering experience, including Staff- or Principal-level ownership of complex production systems.
• Deep product security experience with threat modeling, secure architecture, authentication, authorization, and multi-tenant systems.
• Hands-on experience with cloud security, Kubernetes, IAM, and infrastructure as code.
• Strong understanding of security risks in LLM and agent-based systems.
• Experience leading security incident response and writing and shipping production code, security tooling, or infrastructure.
• Clear communication with engineers, leadership, and enterprise customer security teams.

Nice to have

• Experience as an early security hire at a high-growth B2B SaaS, AI, or infrastructure company.
• Experience building cloud security detections, telemetry, and logging pipelines.
• Experience with SOC 2 or ISO 27001 technical controls, AI security research, standards, or open-source security tooling.
