Portal & Infrastructure Tech Lead (Robotics)

Annual salary: $155,000–$180,000, depending on experience, plus benefits and incentive plans.

What you will do

• Own the technical architecture and strategy for the FF EAI Brain Developer Open Platform, including the API gateway, SDK distribution, developer portal backend, authentication, marketplace, and cloud developer services.
• Lead the design of robotics APIs for motion control, perception, sensor fusion, autonomous decision-making, and inter-device communication.
• Define multi-language SDK architecture and release processes for Python, Node, Go, Java, and other languages.
• Oversee developer portal capabilities such as account systems, API key management, usage metering, documentation, sandbox environments, and analytics dashboards.
• Establish CI/CD, automated API testing, SDK packaging, documentation generation, security, reliability, and incident response standards.
• Build and lead the platform engineering team while collaborating with robotics R&D, cloud infrastructure, product, security, and external developer partners.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a technical leadership role on a platform, infrastructure, or developer-facing API product.
• Experience building systems used by a substantial external developer community.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on expertise with RESTful or gRPC APIs, multi-language SDKs, API gateways, developer portals, OAuth 2.0, API keys, and rate limiting.
• Working knowledge of robotics architectures, middleware such as ROS/ROS2, real-time control systems, sensor data pipelines, and motion planning.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese is required.

Nice to have

• Developer platform experience in robotics, AI/ML, IoT, or autonomous systems.
• Experience with application marketplaces, sandboxing, app review pipelines, developer trust systems, usage-based billing, or tiered platform access.
• Familiarity with ROS2, URDF, or real-time embedded software for legged or humanoid robotics.
• Open-source maintenance experience with developer tooling, SDKs, or API client libraries.
