Senior Consultant (Public Sector)

Location: McLean, Virginia, United States; onsite in the office 4–5 days per week. Willingness to travel up to 20% annually for customer engagements is required. U.S. citizenship is required for candidates considered for public sector roles.

Salary: $100,000–$200,000 USD base salary, plus potential government clearance differential and discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Define, design, develop, and implement custom software and AI solutions on the hirify.global platform throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Partner with customers to understand business processes, gather functional and technical requirements, and deliver measurable business impact.
• Design relational data models, launch them in production, and develop integrations using APIs, JDBC connections, and web services.
• Identify AI use cases and implement RAG, agentic workflows, prompt engineering, and generative AI models.
• Lead small teams and collaborate with client technical teams and business users in agile development environments.
• Enable customers to become self-sufficient in building and adopting process applications.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on software development or technical consulting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience defining business processes, gathering system requirements, and leading post-sale software implementations.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming, relational databases, database design, data modeling, and SQL.
• Experience with agile methodologies, software testing practices, automated test suites, and continuous integration.
• U.S. citizenship required for public sector consideration; willingness to travel up to 20% annually.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, analytics, machine learning, application integration, developer tools, governance, and elastic containers.
• Experience with REST and SOAP APIs, JDBC connections, and web services.
• Experience mentoring or developing others and leading small teams.
