Senior Backend Engineer (Python)

Location: Paris, Île-de-France, France; flexible remote setup with office attendance required for the first 3 days of each month

What you will do

• Design and implement backend services for new product features.
• Refactor early services to improve robustness, reliability, and maintainability.
• Investigate performance and production issues and improve observability.
• Build APIs, data models, and deterministic backend tools for AI agents.
• Design safe workflows where agents propose actions and humans review them.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, and customer-facing teams; review code and support teammates.

Requirements

• Senior-level backend engineering experience with strong Python skills.
• Experience designing reliable, production-grade services and APIs.
• Pragmatic approach to technical trade-offs and system improvement.
• Autonomy, ownership, initiative, and clear, kind communication.
• Interest in AI-driven systems and safe automation; prior AI expertise is not required.
