Senior Backend Engineer (Django)

Location: Paris, France (hybrid)

Salary: €95,000–€105,000 per year plus stock options/BSPCE

What you will do

• Own the architecture, delivery, and ongoing performance of the pricing system across iOS, Android, Web, and API products.
• Design and implement backend features with Django and Django REST Framework.
• Monitor release performance with Datadog and iterate based on product usage and user feedback.
• Collaborate with product owners and frontend and backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Optimize existing endpoints, reduce latency, and scale services for millions of users.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience with Django and Django REST Framework.
• Experience designing schemas, optimizing Django queries, and running low-downtime migrations with relational databases at scale.
• Hands-on experience with a PostgreSQL or MySQL database larger than 100 GB.
• Experience scaling SaaS products and managing subscriptions with Stripe or RevenueCat.
• Experience designing APIs in collaboration with frontend engineers, including OpenAPI specifications and developer documentation.
• Fluent English required; French is not required. Hybrid work from the Paris office is expected.
