Backend Tech Lead — Product Infrastructure (Python)

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of 3–5 engineers while driving project planning, sprint execution, and technical delivery.
• Architect the migration from legacy daily batch tasks to high-throughput, real-time stream-processing ingestion pipelines.
• Scale infrastructure, including Kubernetes deployments on AWS, and own PostgreSQL performance, index tuning, data modelling, and consistency under heavy load.
• Partner with Product Engineering to evolve real-time auto-moderation pipelines and integrate AI/ML models into production data workflows.
• Use ClickHouse and Grafana observability capabilities to automate incident investigation, improve performance, and resolve critical bugs.
• Align technical roadmaps with product managers, engineering leaders, and cross-functional squads.

Requirements

• Experience building, scaling, and monitoring production-grade backend and infrastructure applications.
• Strong experience with Python or another core language such as Go, Java, or C++, with motivation to develop primarily in Python.
• Deep hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and relational databases, including query optimization, index tuning, high-concurrency performance tuning, and data modelling.
• Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes, deployments, and container orchestration.
• Hands-on AWS experience and a solid understanding of cloud computing and systems infrastructure.
• People management, technical leadership, mentoring, and strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience migrating legacy batch systems to real-time streaming data pipelines.
• Practical experience integrating AI/ML models into production data workflows.
