Senior Network Software Engineer I - Secret Clearance (Embedded Systems)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; based at hirify.global's global headquarters. U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements, and employment is subject to U.S. government space technology export regulations.

Base salary: $130,000–$198,000 USD per year for California.

What you will do

• Manage software development and integration of routers, radios, and laser communication devices for spacecraft constellations.
• Coordinate suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, and internal engineering teams to deliver integrated systems and meet program milestones.
• Design simulation and testing approaches for constellation networking.
• Define KPIs, staffing plans, development plans, integration points, and testing schedules.
• Establish software delivery cadence and improve feedback and development practices.
• Maintain software development standards and procedures to ensure quality and compliance with customer requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, aerospace engineering, or a similar technical discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience and comprehensive knowledge of network software.
• Experience with the software development lifecycle, Jira, and systems engineering methods including requirements, performance, interface, and trade-space management.
• Active Secret security clearance with eligibility to obtain TS/SCI.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements.
• U.S. employment must comply with ITAR eligibility and authorization requirements.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in aerospace, computer science, electrical engineering, or another technical discipline.
• Active TS/SCI clearance, SDA NEBULA architecture experience, and experience with cybersecurity controls or encryption.
• Experience leading Agile teams and project management qualifications such as PMP or APMP.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, DevSecOps, Microsoft Project, or Smartsheet.
• Experience with RF, spacecraft systems, or embedded government programs.
