Senior Network Software Engineer II (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite at hirify.global's global headquarters

Salary: $150,000–$225,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Manage software development and integration for routers, radios, and laser communication devices on spacecraft constellations.
• Coordinate suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, and internal engineering teams to deliver integrated systems and meet program milestones.
• Design simulation and testing approaches for constellation networking and plan major cross-team integration points.
• Define KPIs, establish subcontractor feature-drop cadence, and maintain product development and staffing plans.
• Develop software standards and procedures that ensure quality and compliance with customer requirements.
• Drive feedback collection, process improvements, and delivery of space-to-space, space-to-ground, payload software, and data-security programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, aerospace engineering, or a similar technical discipline.
• 8+ years of relevant industry experience and comprehensive knowledge of network software.
• Experience with the software development lifecycle, Jira, and systems engineering methods including requirements management, performance characterization, and interface management.
• Active Secret security clearance, eligibility to obtain TS/SCI, and U.S. citizenship are required.
• U.S. office employment is subject to ITAR and related U.S. export-control eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in aerospace, computer science, electrical engineering, or another technical discipline.
• Active TS/SCI clearance, SDA NEBULA architecture experience, cybersecurity controls, or encryption experience.
• Experience leading Agile teams, project-management qualifications such as PMP or APMP, and familiarity with Microsoft Project or Smartsheet.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps.
• RF or spacecraft experience and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving system gaps.
