Focus on designing self-service mission platforms, automating flight-software testing, and deploying reliable systems across lab, test range, and air-gapped mission environments.

Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States

Salary: $169,000–$216,000 annually, plus potential stock options.

Company

hirify.global develops commercial space infrastructure, including in-orbit pharmaceutical processing systems, reentry capsules, heat shields, and satellite buses.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain high-reliability services for telemetry ingestion, scaling, distribution, and spacecraft commanding.
  • Build operator-grade mission control interfaces and dashboards for integration, testing, and on-orbit operations.
  • Create flight-software simulations, device emulators, scenario-based automated tests, and hardware-in-the-loop frameworks.
  • Design and productionize CI/CD pipelines, artifact management, service templates, infrastructure-as-code, test harnesses, and observability tooling.
  • Deploy software across lab benches, test stands, test ranges, and mission networks using safe rollout and rollback strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, or equivalent technical experience in safety-critical software.
  • 5+ years of experience developing spacecraft or similar safety-critical software.
  • Strong Python development skills and fundamentals in concurrency, networking, performance, and reliability.
  • Experience building real-time data acquisition, scaling, and distribution services using low-latency messaging and time-series or relational databases.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD, dependency and build systems, infrastructure-as-code, logging, metrics, and tracing.
  • Must be a U.S. person authorized to work in the United States and permitted to access export-controlled technology without an export license. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, release management, phased rollouts, and controlled networks is required.

Nice to have

  • Proficiency in C++, Ansible, and/or NiceGUI.
  • Experience with data acquisition, closed-loop control, and mission-grade operator interfaces.
  • Experience integrating CI, testing, simulation, and data tools with flight-software teams.
  • Knowledge of safety-critical certification artifacts, ground-system standards, or security in mission networks.

Culture & Benefits

  • Full-time employment with flexible PTO and 12 paid holidays.
  • Company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance with FSA and employer-matched HSA options.
  • Parental, family-building, pregnancy, parenting, and menopause benefits.
  • 401(k) plan with a 6% immediately vested employer match and incentive equity.
  • Relocation support for new hires if needed, daily lunch, twice-weekly dinner, wellness reimbursement, EV charging, and team events.
