Device Driver Engineer (AI Hardware): Designing and optimizing Linux and Windows driver stacks for high-performance AI accelerator hardware with an accent on PCIe communication, DMA, memory management, and interrupt handling. Focus on reducing latency, improving throughput, debugging kernel and PCIe failures, and supporting virtualization and containerized AI workloads.

What you will do
- Design, develop, optimize, and maintain Linux and Windows PCIe device drivers for AI accelerators.
- Implement low-level hardware interactions, DMA, MMIO, BAR memory mapping, memory management, and interrupt handling.
- Optimize drivers to reduce latency and improve throughput for AI workloads.
- Debug PCIe protocol issues, kernel panics, crashes, and performance bottlenecks using profiling and monitoring tools.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and AI software teams to define driver interfaces.
- Support PCIe Gen4/Gen5, SR-IOV, IOMMU, VFIO, DPUs, hypervisor passthrough, Kubernetes, and Docker environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience developing device drivers for Linux and/or Windows.
- Strong experience with PCIe-based hardware, including BAR regions, DMA, interrupts, and MMIO.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and kernel-mode programming, including the Linux Kernel and Windows WDDM/WDF/MCDM.
- Knowledge of multithreading, synchronization, kernel-space memory management, and low-level debugging tools such as gdb, perf, ftrace, dmesg, and PCIe analyzers.
- Experience with hypervisor interactions, VFIO, passthrough solutions, secure boot, firmware updates, and trusted execution environments.
Nice to have
- Experience with AI-specific accelerators such as GPUs, NPUs, or TPUs.
- Familiarity with high-performance AI/ML workloads.
- Experience contributing to open-source kernel modules.
