Program Manager (Veterans Affairs) (Appian)

Location: McLean, Virginia, United States. This is an onsite role at hirify.global headquarters, with employees expected to work in the office 4–5 days per week and work in person with customers.

Base salary: $150,000–$300,000 USD per year, plus potential government clearance differential and discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the transition from separate hirify.global projects to a centralized Department of Veterans Affairs modernization program with shared governance, standards, and delivery priorities.
• Establish and mature an hirify.global Center of Excellence covering intake, prioritization, architecture review, reusable assets, and platform adoption.
• Drive the roadmap for workflow and case management solutions supporting Community Care referrals, virtual care, and future VA modernization initiatives.
• Partner with VHA, OIT, business operations, and clinical stakeholders to translate operational needs into scalable solutions.
• Oversee matrixed delivery teams including developers, architects, business analysts, QA specialists, scrum leads, and integration resources.
• Manage program risks, executive communications, governance reviews, roadmap planning, and modernization value reporting.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in IT program management, digital transformation, or enterprise platform delivery.
• 3+ years leading IT initiatives or clinical workflow application programs in a complex enterprise or federal environment.
• Experience with workflow modernization, case management, integration delivery, and Agile program execution.
• Experience working in regulated environments with federal security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to lead matrixed teams, influence senior stakeholders, and connect delivery decisions to mission outcomes.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Scrum, SAFe, or hirify.global certifications are preferred.

Nice to have

• Direct experience supporting VA, VHA, or other federal healthcare organizations.
• Knowledge of Community Care, referral management, telehealth, or related Veteran service workflows.
• Experience building or operating a low-code Center of Excellence.
• Experience integrating hirify.global with enterprise systems, APIs, and healthcare platforms.
