Manager of Field Applications Engineering (Semiconductor IP)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States (primary); Austin, Texas, United States (optional). North America. Up to 30% travel required.

What you will do

• Lead and grow a distributed team of senior Field Applications Engineers across the USA.
• Recruit, onboard, mentor, and develop customer-facing engineering talent.
• Partner with regional sales directors to secure high-value design wins and support pre-sales and post-sales activities.
• Oversee customer proof-of-concepts, evaluations, architectural reviews, and critical technical escalations.
• Present technical keynotes, product demonstrations, and deep-dives to C-level executives.
• Feed customer requirements into R&D and Product Management while creating application notes, whitepapers, and training collateral.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field.
• 5+ years managing customer-facing engineering teams, such as FAE or Technical Support teams.
• 10+ years of experience in semiconductor, silicon IP, or high-performance networking.
• Deep knowledge of Network-on-Chip, AMBA protocols including CHI, AXI, and ACE, or PCIe/CXL fabrics.
• Familiarity with front-end ASIC design, SoC architecture, RTL verification, and EDA tools from Synopsys, Cadence, or Siemens.
• Exceptional English verbal and written communication skills; up to 30% travel is required.

• Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
