Patient Access Associate Specialist - Part-Time (Healthcare)

Location: Onsite at Children's Minnesota Minneapolis Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. Shifts include days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.

Salary: $17.00–$22.80 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Perform patient admitting, pre-registration, demographic and insurance information collection.
• Assign accurate medical record numbers, process physician orders, and complete medical necessity and compliance checks.
• Verify insurance eligibility, select plan codes, enter benefit data, and support point-of-service collections and clean claims.
• Explain and distribute consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other patient forms, obtaining required signatures.
• Conduct account audits, correct records, complete reporting, and provide statistical data to Patient Access leadership.
• Operate the hospital telephone switchboard and provide compassionate customer service.

Requirements

• Ability to work onsite at Children's Minnesota Minneapolis Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Inquisitiveness and openness to innovation, including AI-enabled process improvement.
• CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire; certification is company-paid.
