Compliance Officer

Location: London, UK; hybrid

Salary: £70,000–£90,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus and equity

What you will do

• Monitor business activities and transactions for potential compliance issues or policy deviations.
• Support the implementation of compliance policies, procedures, and employee training.
• Conduct or support internal compliance reviews and audits, document findings, and track remediation.
• Maintain compliance registers, trackers, and documentation for regulatory reporting and audits.
• Monitor regulatory changes, assess their impact, and support investigations into potential compliance issues.
• Prepare compliance reports and metrics and respond to internal questions about policies and procedures.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in compliance, risk, audit, or a regulatory role, ideally in financial services, fintech, or another regulated industry.
• Solid understanding of compliance principles, regulatory frameworks, and internal control processes.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain compliance requirements to non-specialists.
• Experience with compliance tracking tools and systems and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proactive and ethical approach with sound judgment when escalating potential issues.
