Lead Software Engineer (Payments)

What you will do

• Develop, design, debug, test, implement, and maintain moderately complex payment applications across front-end and back-end platforms.
• Create program specifications, application documentation, implementation plans, and software development deliverables.
• Analyze and correct complex code deficiencies, define testing and validation requirements, and propose systemic improvements.
• Collaborate with business and technology teams, clients, joint ventures, and vendors to determine solution approaches.
• Advise leadership on application standards, controls, procedures, monitoring, and PCI security compliance.
• Support resource estimates, billable-hour planning, and on-the-job training for software engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business/Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• Typically at least 6 years of professional experience in coding, designing, developing, and analyzing data.
• Advanced knowledge of two or more modern front-end or back-end programming languages and technologies.
• Experience with APIs, external services, relational databases, and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with operating systems including Linux, Microsoft Windows, z/OS, or Tandem/HP-Nonstop.
• Ability to coordinate personnel activities and provide technical guidance as a team lead.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of professional experience.
• Experience with IBM Rational Tools.
• Knowledge of technologies such as Java, Python, .NET, Ruby, COBOL, JavaScript, Node, React, Angular, Redux, Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL Server, DB2, or Hadoop.
