Safety Specialist II (Utilities)

Location: US, Dayton, Ohio; regular travel to field locations, job sites, and facilities is required.

What you will do

• Implement, execute, and continuously improve the Safety Management System across hirify.global Ohio Transmission & Distribution.
• Maintain compliance with applicable Health & Safety regulations, hirify.global standards, OSHA requirements, and business-specific requirements.
• Develop annual Health & Safety work plans, monitor KPIs, and prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports.
• Conduct hazard assessments, risk analyses, JHAs, JSAs, safety walks, work activity observations, inspections, and corrective-action follow-up.
• Lead or support incident investigations, including significant incident potential events using TapRooT methodology.
• Deliver safety orientations and training for employees and contractors, and support emergency response drills and storm recovery activities.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of relevant safety experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety, EHS, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to regularly travel to field locations, job sites, and facilities.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with employees, contractors, supervisors, managers, regulatory agencies, and external stakeholders.
• Transmission and distribution utility safety, utility, electric transmission, distribution, construction, or field operations experience is preferred.
