Engineering Technician (Additive Manufacturing)

Location: Devens, Massachusetts, United States; onsite manufacturing environment. Schedule: Wednesday to Friday and every other Thursday, 6:00 PM–6:00 AM.

Salary: $32–$38 per hour, plus 15% differential pay for weekend night shift.

What you will do

• Set up, operate, and perform daily maintenance on OEM laser powder bed fusion printers.
• Prepare and execute print jobs using OEM printer software, including build setup, file preparation, and parameter selection.
• Execute print builds for applications development, production development, demonstrations, and qualification runs.
• Assist with printer installation, qualification, and validation activities, including IQ, SAT, OQ, and PQ print execution and documentation.
• Monitor print quality and escalate issues involving machine performance, materials, or process parameters.
• Maintain build records and process data while collaborating with applications, process, and manufacturing engineers.

Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in additive manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, or a hands-on production environment.
• Familiarity with 3D printing or additive manufacturing concepts.
• Comfort with technical software, detailed work instructions, repeatable processes, and disciplined documentation.
• Willingness to work hands-on with complex equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with metal additive manufacturing systems such as EOS, SLM, Renishaw, or similar.
• Exposure to printer qualification, validation, or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Understanding of print parameters, materials behavior, or post-processing workflows.
• Experience with applications development, prototyping, or early production builds.
