Build an AI-driven financial operating system that automates administrative workflows, billing, and payments for European healthcare practices.
What you will do
- Develop AI systems and robust data pipelines from rapid prototypes to scalable production solutions.
- Ship LLM and GenAI features using RAG, tool use, planning, agent frameworks, and multi-agent systems.
- Design distributed systems, including APIs, data models, asynchronous services, event-driven architectures, caching, and performance optimization.
- Build advanced retrieval systems with embeddings, chunking strategies, hybrid search, metadata schemas, knowledge graphs, and evaluation frameworks.
- Establish production monitoring and engineering best practices while mentoring engineers.
- Drive architecture decisions and technical leadership within a small, agile AI division.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building and operating backend systems in production.
- Strong Python skills required; TypeScript experience is useful for integration work.
- 3+ years of experience shipping LLM or GenAI features to users.
- Strong ML fundamentals and hands-on experience with model evaluation and self-evolving agents.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, retrieval engineering, cloud-native development, and production-scale architecture.
- Excellent English communication skills required; fluent German is a plus.
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS; GCP is also valued.
- Experience with Dagster, Airflow, or Prefect for dependency-aware data workflow orchestration.
- Technical writing, open-source contributions, or industry speaking experience.
- Fluent German to improve interaction with the user base.
