TL;DR
Senior AI Software Engineer (Python/FastAPI, Angular, AWS): Building an investment platform that combines real-time market data, news ingestion, and GenAI-driven analysis with an accent on full-stack delivery, practical R&D, and reliable financial signal pipelines. Focus on selecting between LLMs, ML models, and heuristics, evaluating prompt quality, making architectural decisions, and keeping production systems fast and observable.
Location: Hybrid in Germany, with offices in Karlsruhe, Berlin, Munich, and Hamburg; on-site in Berlin or Karlsruhe 4 days per month. Up to 15 days of workation within the EU per calendar year.

What you will do
- Build and ship full-stack features for an investment application combining real-time market data, news ingestion, and GenAI-driven analysis.
- Develop across the Python/FastAPI backend, Angular frontend, and AWS infrastructure from prototype through production.
- Drive practical GenAI R&D initiatives focused on measurable real-world impact.
- Make architectural decisions about when to use LLMs, tuned ML models, or simpler heuristics.
- Shape prompt-quality evaluation and data pipelines for financial signals and news.
- Lead architecture discussions and support other engineers through code reviews and system design.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript with 5+ years of experience shipping production software.
- Hands-on experience with a major cloud platform, preferably AWS.
- Practical experience using GenAI tools to improve development workflows and deliver measurable impact.
- Strong interest in finance, markets, or investing, including equities or ETFs, with willingness to develop domain expertise.
- Strong communication, ownership, initiative, independence, and ability to carry work from problem to solution.
Nice to have
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Angular.
- Experience with Terraform or AWS CDK for Infrastructure as Code.
