Agentic Platform Engineering Manager (Remote US)

Location: Remote USA; US citizenship or a Green Card is required due to US Government contract requirements.

Salary: $200,000–$280,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, recruit, and retain engineers building agentic AI applications and platform systems.
• Set execution and delivery expectations from early product concepts through production deployment and operation.
• Partner with Product, Design, go-to-market, Platform Engineering, and other engineering leaders to translate customer needs into technical priorities.
• Establish engineering patterns for agent workflows, MCP and tool integrations, service design, APIs, deployment, and inter-service communication.
• Guide architectural trade-offs across application and platform layers, balancing iteration speed, scalability, simplicity, and maintainability.
• Improve engineering processes, remove blockers, and contribute directly to architecture, prototypes, and technically complex initiatives.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience designing and operating production software systems.
• 2+ years of experience hiring, managing, and developing engineering teams.
• Strong background in software architecture, systems engineering, cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and container orchestration such as Kubernetes.
• Experience building or supporting AI/ML platforms or AI-powered products involving LLMs, AI agents, model serving, MCP, tool calling, workflows, or enterprise integrations.
• Strong technical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative, low-ego leadership style.
• Experience partnering with Product and engineering teams on roadmaps, customer value, and 0-to-1 product development.

Nice to have

• Experience working in Rust or leading teams in a Rust-heavy environment.
• Familiarity with AI evaluation frameworks, observability, and production systems.
• Experience designing enterprise systems or working in startup and high-growth environments.
• Exposure to regulated or mission-critical industries such as defense, healthcare, finance, or telecommunications.
