Concept Architect, Top Hat (Automotive)

Location: Novi, Michigan, United States; 4–5 days per week onsite with regular in-person meetings and occasional travel

Salary: $110,000–$135,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus

What you will do

• Support concept architecture development for vehicle programs in collaboration with design and engineering teams.
• Create 3D CAD packaging proposals and develop solutions to engineering and functional challenges while prioritizing customer experience.
• Establish occupant packaging, including occupant count, body positioning, and roominess targets.
• Benchmark competitive vehicle packaging using tools such as A2MAC1.
• Iterate CAD data sets with design and engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle to improve feasibility and customer experience.
• Create requirements documentation, including 2D and 3D drawings, specifications, and component design guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• 4+ years of automotive industry experience in concept engineering, including concept lead platforms or variants and component selection or modification.
• Proficiency with CAD and design visualization tools such as CATIA V5, TeamCenter, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and NX.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and JIRA.
• Familiarity with automotive safety standards and regulations, including GCIE, SAE, and C/FMVSS.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional and global environment.
