Mechanical Build Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: El Segundo, California, United States; onsite work with travel to vendors and other hirify.global sites as needed.

Annual salary: $100,000–$130,000 USD.

hirify.global develops and manufactures critical avionics, hydraulic, and electrical components and subsystems for aerospace, military, and infrastructure applications across seven factories in the United States.

What you will do

• Own build procedures for qualification hardware and iterate initial builds toward reliable, production-level manufacturing.
• Develop build methodologies from industry standards and conduct R&D to improve component manufacturing processes.
• Oversee assembly and manufacturing procedures for new and existing hardware.
• Own design-for-manufacturability changes to part drawings and eliminate repeat failures.
• Develop manufacturing specifications, tooling, capital equipment plans, machine upgrades, and facility layouts.
• Prototype and test new components while partnering with design engineering and production teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in aerospace, manufacturing, materials, or mechanical engineering, or engineering physics.
• At least 1 year of engineering experience in manufacturing, design, testing, or development; internships and project team experience count.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and solid mechanics.
• Experience or knowledge in aerospace/mechanical engineering, GD&T, DFM, and multidisciplinary technical communication.
• Experience with fluid, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, or structural assembly build and testing is valuable for the role.
• Must be a U.S. person under ITAR requirements, such as a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected person.

Nice to have

• Two or more years of professional aerospace or mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience with Python, MATLAB, Siemens NX, or a similar CAD package.
• Strong project management and collaborative problem-solving skills.
