Salary: $155,000–$195,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do
- Develop and apply multidisciplinary design, analysis, and optimization models and workflows for conceptual and preliminary vehicle design.
- Support vehicle sizing, configuration trades, mission analysis, and performance assessments across aerospace defense products.
- Improve engineering analysis tools covering aerodynamics, propulsion, mass properties, structures, controls, mission performance, and operational constraints.
- Incorporate higher-fidelity analysis, ground and flight test data, and operational performance data into engineering models.
- Conduct optimization, sensitivity, trade, and design-of-experiments studies while communicating design drivers and recommendations.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to the technical roadmap for MDAO capabilities, including reproducible workflows, documentation, version control, and testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of relevant aerospace engineering experience, or an advanced degree with significant relevant experience.
- Experience with aircraft, UAS, missiles, spacecraft, or other aerospace vehicle sizing, configuration trades, mission analysis, or performance assessment.
- Broad understanding of aerodynamics, propulsion, mass properties, structures, controls, and mission performance.
- Experience developing or modifying engineering analysis tools with Python, MATLAB, C++, Julia, or a similar language.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to receive technology controlled under U.S. export control laws without sponsorship for an export license.
Nice to have
- Advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience with UAV, aircraft, missile, or defense product development.
- Experience with MDAO, optimization, surrogate modeling, uncertainty analysis, or multidisciplinary trade-space exploration.
- Experience with OpenMDAO, pyOptSparse, Dymos, GPkit, SUAVE, or similar MDAO frameworks.
- Experience defining analytical workflows, model validation practices, or design study best practices.
