Senior Fund Accountant

Location: Montreal, Jersey, London, or Warsaw

What you will do

• Review estimated and final NAV calculations for hedge funds and private equity funds, including FX classes, side pockets, and separately managed accounts.
• Validate management fees, performance fees, distribution waterfalls, and investor allocations against governing fund documents and side letters.
• Review investor subscriptions, redemptions, capital calls, distributions, operating expenses, and expense allocations prepared by fund administrators.
• Review annual financial statements and coordinate with external auditors and fund administrators to support timely financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly management reporting, due diligence materials, and investor and counterparty information requests.
• Improve systems, processes, and procedures while maintaining an effective internal control environment.

Requirements

• 8+ years of fund accounting experience, including hedge fund accounting.
• Experience with investor and partnership allocations and related software such as Backstop, Hedgetek, or Investran.
• Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and stay highly organized in a rapidly changing environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues in different offices and service providers across time zones.

Nice to have

• Accounting experience with private equity, venture capital, or CLO entities.
• Public accounting or combined Big Four and private accounting experience.
