EMEA Financial Accountant

Location: Fareham, Hampshire, United Kingdom; hybrid schedule with onsite work 3 days per week, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.

What you will do

• Prepare market financial reporting, including revenue, units, operating expenses, accruals, prepayments, headcount, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage revenue recognition, cut-off adjustments, rebate accruals, revenue returns provisions, and manual adjustments across COGNOS and EPM.
• Prepare monthly reporting packs, variance commentary, scorecards, corporate submissions, certifications, budgets, and forecasts.
• Lead month-end reviews and quarterly business reviews with Business Controllers, market management, and senior leadership.
• Support internal and external audits, SOX controls, statutory reporting, tax and treasury requests, process documentation, and IPE validation.
• Identify and drive continuous improvements and support market and GBS financial reporting projects.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a large multinational company or shared-service environment.
• Experience with integrated ERP systems such as Oracle R12 or SAP.
• Working knowledge and application of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and US GAAP.
• Broad knowledge of finance areas, financial systems, and applications.
• Experience in a matrix-style organization; experience in a global or US matrix-managed business is highly desirable.
• Strong customer-service, communication, relationship-building, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• High computer literacy and intermediate MS Office knowledge, including Excel pivot tables and VLOOKUP functionality.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and participate in a multicultural, multilingual operating environment.
• Self-motivated, positive, and able to demonstrate a high degree of initiative.
