Senior Kotlin / Java Software Engineer - Clearing & Settlement (Fintech)

Location: Seitzstraße 8e, 80538 München-Altstadt-Lehel, Germany. International relocation support is provided if required; an opportunity to work from abroad is available.

What you will do

• Build and evolve business-critical clearing and settlement services with Kotlin, Java, and Spring Boot.
• Design distributed, event-driven systems and APIs for complex financial workflows.
• Develop and operate cloud-native applications on AWS using ECS containers and Lambda workloads.
• Improve infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, observability, monitoring, and operational reliability.
• Write secure, maintainable, and well-tested code while taking ownership from idea through production.
• Raise engineering standards through quality improvements, automation, reliability, and better developer experience.

Requirements

• Strong experience building backend services with Kotlin or Java and Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of Domain-Driven Design and the ability to model complex business processes.
• Experience designing and operating distributed, event-driven systems and APIs.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud-native development, including containerised and serverless workloads.
• Confidence with automated testing, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, production observability, and secure software development.
• A relevant university degree or comparable qualification, plus clear communication and a collaborative approach.
