Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Gardena, California, United States; onsite role. ITAR eligibility requires U.S. citizenship or nationality, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylee status, or eligibility to obtain required U.S. government authorizations.

What you will do

• Design and develop next-generation structures, mechanisms, and electromechanical hardware.
• Own components, subassemblies, system architecture, and products from conception through integrated testing and manufacturing.
• Perform hand calculations and computational analysis for designs exposed to harsh environmental and dynamic conditions.
• Prototype, test, and rapidly iterate manufacturing processes and development hardware.
• Lead internal and external design reviews with suppliers and customers.
• Conduct trade studies balancing cost, schedule, safety, and performance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a mechanical design role within the aerospace and defense industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering.
• High proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo/ProE, NX, or Catia.
• At least 2 years of experience with computational analysis tools such as Ansys.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
• Must meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements for work in the United States.
