hirify.global develops the ES-30, a 30-passenger regional hybrid-electric airplane targeting type certification by the end of the decade.

What you will do

  • Lead comprehensive test plans and procedures for aerospace battery modules and high-voltage packs.
  • Collaborate with design teams on DFMEA, test requirements, testability, and battery qualification and certification plans.
  • Create system and subsystem Design Verification Plans and Reports, release test plans, and host Test Readiness Reviews.
  • Execute performance, lifecycle, environmental, safety, mechanical, thermal, electrical, and homologation testing.
  • Design, build, and integrate test fixtures, data acquisition systems, and control software.
  • Analyze test data, investigate failure modes, perform root cause analysis, and manage external testing labs and vendors.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of battery testing and validation experience for the senior level, or 8+ years for the staff level, in aerospace, automotive, or other high-reliability industries.
  • Hands-on experience testing and validating high-voltage lithium-ion battery systems.
  • Strong understanding of battery electrochemistry, performance characteristics, failure mechanisms, and safety requirements.
  • Experience with battery cyclers, environmental chambers, safety test equipment, and data acquisition systems.
  • Proficiency with LabVIEW and MATLAB for data acquisition and analysis.
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrochemistry, or a related field.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with aerospace standards, regulatory requirements, qualification, and certification processes.
  • Experience with battery modeling and simulation.
  • Knowledge of battery management systems and control algorithms.
