Business Analyst (Procurement Analytics)

Location: Batu Kawan, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia; onsite at the Penang SDSM Office

What you will do

• Develop commodity intelligence models covering pricing trends, supply-demand dynamics, cost drivers, supplier capacity, and allocation risks.
• Build should-cost models, perform cost decomposition, and support sourcing negotiations, benchmarking, savings validation, and ROI decisions.
• Analyze BOM structures, component risks, lifecycle exposure, single-source dependencies, and opportunities for standardization and part consolidation.
• Create supplier- and component-level risk models across Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 supply chains and prioritize mitigation actions.
• Build Power BI, SQL, Python, or equivalent analytics solutions and executive dashboards for cost, risk, supplier performance, and SLA visibility.
• Partner with Engineering, Finance, Category Management, NPI, PMO, and Supply Chain teams to translate data into sourcing and product-readiness decisions.

Requirements

• 5–8+ years of experience in business analytics, procurement, supply chain, or finance.
• Strong experience in cost modeling, financial analysis, data analytics, and visualization using Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel modeling.
• Understanding of BOMs, sourcing, supplier management, supply-chain concepts, and cost drivers.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed environment and translate complex data into business decisions.
• Ability to work onsite at the Penang SDSM Office in Batu Kawan, Malaysia.

Nice to have

• Experience in semiconductor, electronics, or direct-materials procurement.
• Exposure to should-cost modeling, teardown analysis, or commodity management.
• Knowledge of ERP and procurement systems such as SAP or Ariba.
• Experience with supply-risk tools, data platforms, or predictive analytics.
