- Develop analytical and computational models with safety analysis engineers.
- Perform transient and accident analyses for the sodium-cooled fast reactor program.
- Analyze licensing basis events involving radionuclide release, mechanistic source terms, radiological consequences, and emergency planning zones.
- Establish core and SSC functional, performance, safety, and quality requirements with interdisciplinary engineering teams.
- Maintain analysis-of-record documentation, review engineering analyses, and support transient and accident analysis capabilities in the software framework.
Requirements
- Master’s or Ph.D. in nuclear engineering or a relevant engineering discipline, plus at least 10 years of nuclear-field experience.
- Knowledge of nuclear thermal-hydraulics, fuel performance, reactor dynamics, accident source terms, and transient phenomena.
- Significant experience with transient and accident analysis codes.
- Familiarity with nuclear design, regulatory requirements, RG 1.233, EMDAP, RG 1.203, Appendix B to 10 CFR 50, and ASME NQA-1.
