Lead Security Engineer (AI/Cloud Security)

What you will do

• Build security guardrails, tooling, and standards for AI-assisted development across AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and developer tooling.
• Audit cloud security posture and IAM architecture, partnering with Application Security, SRE, and R&D Engineering.
• Assess Claude Code, Cursor, and MCP gateway integrations and develop governance frameworks for their secure use.
• Design AI-driven workflows for security monitoring, threat detection, incident response, and IAM governance.
• Protect AI tools and platforms through secure agent sandboxing, MCP server governance, misuse prevention, and data-breach controls.
• Own security strategy, compliance initiatives, incident response, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and security education.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical, engineering, or scientific field, or comparable education and experience.
• 3+ years of cybersecurity experience, including security operations or IAM, and 2+ years in AWS cloud security operations.
• 2+ years of coding experience with Python, Go, or TypeScript, plus hands-on Terraform and infrastructure-as-code development.
• Hands-on experience securing AI/ML systems, including data pipelines, model deployments, and API integrations.
• Experience with enterprise identity providers, especially Okta, and OAuth 2.0 and SAML.
• Must be within commuting distance of New York City for the hybrid role.

Nice to have

• AWS Solutions Architect or Security Specialty certification.
• AI/ML security certification or familiarity with adversarial machine learning threats and mitigations.
• Experience integrating security controls into CI/CD and AI-assisted development workflows.
• SOC 2, PCI, or HIPAA audit or training certifications.
• Knowledge of low-level networking principles.
