Location: Fully onsite in Long Beach, California, United States

Salary: $140,000–$175,000 base for Senior Test Engineer; actual level and salary depend on skills, education, location, and experience.

What you will do

  • Define and lead test strategies for spacecraft propulsion and fluid-system programs.
  • Develop, review, and maintain test plans, procedures, readiness reports, and compliance matrices.
  • Execute proof, leak, functional, performance, and propellant-loading test campaigns.
  • Analyze test data, disposition anomalies, and lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Design, build, commission, and operate propulsion and fluids ground-support equipment.
  • Coordinate with propulsion, systems, production, program, customer, and regulatory stakeholders during reviews and formal test events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, chemical engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Relevant propulsion or fluid-systems test-engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability systems.
  • Knowledge of proof, leak, functional, and performance testing methodologies.
  • Experience leading propulsion or fluid-system test campaigns and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong data-analysis, systems-engineering, failure-analysis, communication, leadership, and technical-documentation skills.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to government contracts and ITAR requirements.

Nice to have

  • Master’s or higher degree in aerospace, mechanical, or chemical engineering.
  • Experience with data acquisition, test automation, and scripting using LabVIEW, Python, or MATLAB.
  • Hands-on experience with thrusters, valves, regulators, tanks, feed systems, propellant handling, and hazardous-fluid operations.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-810, AIAA propulsion standards, or NASA/DoD propulsion test specifications.
  • Experience in classified or secure test environments and an active Secret or Top Secret clearance.
