TL;DR
Quality Engineer (Aerospace): Ensuring quality standards for flight-critical hardware in autonomous, all-electric eVTOL aircraft with an accent on QMS implementation, metrology, FMEA, and FAA compliance. Focus on leading RCCA and 5-Why problem-solving, validating metallic and composite components, and improving manufacturing and inspection processes.

Location: Onsite at the Hollister, California office

Salary: $92,000–$113,000 per year

What you will do

  • Represent the Enterprise Safety & Quality organization for propulsion and machine shop activities.
  • Establish, implement, and enforce quality requirements across the eVTOL program lifecycle.
  • Lead QMS implementation, FMEA, and other critical quality processes with cross-functional IPTs.
  • Lead RCCA investigations using 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Whys methodologies.
  • Optimize inspection techniques and validate flight hardware using CMMs and laser trackers.
  • Ensure manufacturing and engineering activities comply with FAA requirements and certification standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or related Engineering.
  • At least 2 years of Quality or Manufacturing Engineering experience in aerospace, automotive, or another safety-critical sector.
  • Experience with metallic and composite components and metrology tools such as CMM machines and laser trackers.
  • Ability to interpret and critique design drawings, process specifications, and autoclave reports.
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T and strong applied knowledge of manufacturing, product development, design, and quality systems.
  • Experience participating in and leading RCCA processes to eliminate recurring non-conformances.

Nice to have

  • Five or more years of quality engineering experience, preferably in aviation.
  • Experience with sub-assemblies and AS9100 manufacturing and quality standards.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Six Sigma Green Belt, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence in the Atlassian suite.
