Quality Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Hybrid role based remotely in Detroit, Michigan; onsite work is required at least two days per week. Up to 25% domestic and international travel may be required.

Salary: $82,000–$126,000 base annual salary, plus medical, dental, vision, disability, 401(k), PTO, and other benefits.

What you will do

• Manage supplier quality activities for assigned suppliers and contract manufacturers.
• Act as the primary quality contact for suppliers and support issue resolution.
• Conduct supplier audits, assessments, and quality performance reviews.
• Support quality planning across new product introduction, production readiness, and sustaining operations.
• Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions using QRRC, 8D, A3, and 5-Why methodologies.
• Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and supplier teams to prevent recurring quality issues and improve performance.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of quality engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing environment is preferred, with related work experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
• Proficiency in quality management concepts and tools, including FMEA, DOE, MSA, GRR, and 8D.
• Experience with Control Plans, FMEAs, and PPAP or equivalent part approval processes.
• Familiarity with SAA, Minitab, JMP, and advanced Excel for statistical process control and data analysis.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to supplier, client, and customer locations by car or air are required.

Nice to have

• CQE or Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
• Certified or previously certified ISO 9001 or AS9100 auditor.
