Software Engineer - Distributed Systems (Storage/Databases)

Salary: USD 200,000–300,000 per year, plus discretionary performance-based bonuses and benefits.

What you will do

• Create distributed storage systems customized for research workloads.
• Develop data storage libraries and tools used by Research teams to generate trading strategies.
• Analyze storage and compute requirements and build infrastructure for next-generation research.
• Evaluate current distributed storage approaches and help advance internal systems toward state-of-the-art solutions.
• Collaborate with a small team of developers while taking ownership of robust, high-impact systems.

Requirements

• Proficient C++ experience, preferably with daily use.
• Experience with distributed systems and the ability to reason about fault tolerance, sharding, trade-offs, simplicity, and robustness under failure.
• Ability to work productively in a Linux environment.
• Knowledge of UNIX operating systems, low-level systems performance issues, and networking.
• Strong communication, prioritization, collaboration, ownership, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience developing databases, distributed filesystems, search infrastructure, or similar systems.
