Sr Staff Software Engineer (C/C++)

Salary: $156,400–$234,700 annually

What you will do

• Design, develop, validate, and test advanced hirify.global SQL Engine and query optimization features.
• Lead technical direction for complex feature development, including functional and performance analysis.
• Design, implement, and maintain the LLVM-based query Parsing Engine.
• Debug and resolve functional and performance defects in massively parallel processing environments.
• Lead software engineers during feature development and partner with feature managers on large-scale initiatives.
• Collaborate with database architects, cloud infrastructure, product, program management, and customer support teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience with a master’s or Ph.D.
• Technical leadership experience in cloud-based data management, query processing, and query optimization.
• Deep expertise in C/C++ and strong proficiency in Java, Python, R, and SQL.
• Experience with object-oriented design, design patterns, test-driven development, and debugging parallel-processing software.
• Experience designing large-scale, elastic, highly available cloud database services or distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of AWS and public cloud technologies and operations.

Nice to have

• Open-source project experience and familiarity with diverse database technologies.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools.
• Assembly-level debugging and optimization skills.
