Americas Legal Counsel (Fintech)

What you will do

• Advise product and engineering teams on the legal and regulatory aspects of payment and banking product design, development, and launch.
• Translate complex regulatory requirements into practical guidance for compliant product growth.
• Develop and execute licensing and market-entry strategies across multiple jurisdictions, including overseeing license applications.
• Provide regulatory guidance on payments, money transmission, cryptocurrency, foreign exchange, and cross-border transactions.
• Support corporate governance, employment, privacy, intellectual property, fundraising, strategic transactions, and other general legal matters.
• Partner with leadership and business teams, manage external counsel, and build scalable legal processes.

Requirements

• 7+ years of legal experience, including significant fintech or financial services experience; 15+ years for senior Counsel level.
• Strong knowledge of financial services and payments regulations.
• Experience providing practical legal advice that balances risk and commercial objectives.
• Experience collaborating with product, engineering, compliance, and business teams.
• JD from an accredited law school and bar membership in good standing.
• Strong analytical, communication, project management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.

• Fluent English and Spanish.
• Knowledge of cryptocurrency and/or Banking as a Service products.
