Senior Counsel, Real Estate

Location: New York, NY, United States of America; based in hirify.global's New York office

Salary: $200,000–$230,000 annually, plus role-specific incentive compensation

What you will do

• Draft and negotiate large commercial office leases, management agreements, lease amendments, subordination and non-disturbance agreements, and estoppel certificates.
• Interpret existing leases and advise business units on asset-related questions, escalations, emerging issues, and potential disputes.
• Conduct real estate due diligence for strategic initiatives and assess related risks and opportunities.
• Improve internal legal processes, best practices, operational efficiency, and compliance.
• Provide timely, practical legal advice to operational teams, executives, and other internal clients.

Requirements

• At least five years of direct experience in leasing and commercial real estate law.
• Juris Doctor degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Admission to the New York State Bar or eligibility to register as in-house counsel in New York.
• Demonstrated ability to identify complex legal issues and translate legal requirements into risk-based recommendations.
• Strong judgment, ownership, organization, independence, and ability to manage competing deadline-driven priorities.
