Legal Operations Manager (AI)

What you will do

• Partner directly with frontier AI labs to scope legal data needs and translate them into deliverable programs.
• Recruit and lead teams of practicing attorneys and specialists across various legal jurisdictions and practice areas.
• Design specifications for legal reasoning datasets, research workflows, and grading rubrics.
• Define evaluation criteria to distinguish rigorous legal reasoning from errors, ensuring citation integrity and accuracy.
• Own projects from initial scoping through final delivery in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.

Requirements

• Must be based in San Francisco (On-site role).
• 3+ years of experience practicing law at a leading firm, in-house, or government/regulatory body.
• JD or equivalent qualification with a track record of substantive legal work.
• Deep command of legal reasoning and research methodology.
• High agency with the ability to execute in ambiguity and define problems before solving them.
• Strong analytical skills and comfort with data and AI tools.

Nice to have

• Python proficiency or hands-on experience with data analysis.
• Experience with legal technology, e-discovery, or contract analytics.
• Depth in technically demanding practice areas such as securities, antitrust, tax, or patent prosecution.
• Multi-jurisdictional or non-US legal experience.
