Legal Operations Specialist (AI)

Location: Redwood City, California, United States; hybrid

Salary: $250,000–$300,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Build and own the contract lifecycle in Ironclad, including intake, playbooks, approvals, permissions, and integrations.
• Design standardized intake workflows and self-service playbooks for Sales and internal teams.
• Set up automated approval routing that reduces cycle time while controlling risk across agreement types.
• Manage the contract database as a single source of truth, including attribute extraction, audits, and template repositories.
• Build reporting on contract volume, turnaround times, and KPIs, using data to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
• Coordinate Legal, Sales, and wider business teams to drive process adoption.

Requirements

• Hands-on Ironclad CLM experience configuring workflows, managing permissions, and generating reports.
• Strong understanding of contract lifecycles and commercial agreements.
• At least 2 years of experience in contract administration or legal operations.
• Evidence of improving operational metrics, such as turnaround time, self-service volume, or stalled agreements.
• Clear communication, conflict-resolution skills, and resourcefulness in an undefined process environment.
• BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing AI tools for contract extraction, auditing, or legal-tech automation.
• Experience aligning Legal, Sales, and other teams cross-functionally.
• Quantified improvements in contract turnaround time or related metrics.

Hiring process

• The first 30 days focus on learning current contracting practices, auditing Ironclad and agreements, and defining priorities.
• By days 30–60, launch and validate an intake-to-approval workflow on an active agreement type connected to a Sales deal.
• By days 60–90, scale the results into playbooks, dashboards, and company-wide metrics.
